ABOUT BIIGEWIN

Biigewin (Coming Home) Inc.

Our entity was gifted the name, “Biigewin” through Indigenous ceremony. Through this ceremony our spirit was given life and our group was given an identity. The name itself means “Coming Home” in the sense of having support, mentorship, safety, structure, nurturance, comfort and a true sense of belonging. Coming Home also refers to Biigewin being a space which is welcoming, inclusive and that offers protection. These qualities are crucial in the development of personal growth and overall well-being.

Biigewin (Coming Home) Inc. provides therapeutic services that are tailored to meet the specific needs of each participant, youth, and their families/supportive structures. Biigewin (Coming Home) Inc. seeks to ensure the provision of holistic therapeutic services in a wrap-around and culturally inclusive format. THE TEAM
OVERSIGHT

The initial construct for this team follows the infrastructure and consultation of Mitch Bourbonniere who has 30 plus years’ experience as a master’s degree clinician and a life time’s experience as a community heart worker. Our entire program will be continuously clinically supervised by 2 Master degree clinicians as well. Our frontline team comes with a variety of education, skill sets, work experience, and lived life experiences that are relative and extremely valuable to this field. The entire staff is encouraged to pursue continuous education and additional workshops in order to continuously improve and hone their craft/practice.

SHARING EXPERIENCES

Work Structure
& Funding

We spend a minimum of 10 hours a month working with each youth implementing the desired structure and services (we often exceed this time frame at no additional costs). The specifics of the treatment plan (rate, hours, term etc.) are negotiated between ourselves, the social workers, the participant, caregivers, and any other potential supportive structures. The assigned staff is available for connection (in-person, calls, texts, virtually) from 7:00am to midnight, seven days a week, 365 days a year. All costs and mileage within city limits are included in the rates. Youth and families can cover costs personally or access funding for Biigewin (Coming Home) Inc. through Jordan’s Principle and Child and Family Services. Further details would be negotiated between interested parties.
